Tips for Kids Transitioning Between Homes
We all want to set our kids up for success. One of the ways we can do that is to preemptively prepare for their potential needs before they occur. We show up at the pool with their floatie, we pack them a drink for the car, and we make sure their lunch is packed in their lunchbox hours before lunch time.
For kids who go back and forth between two homes, it may also mean having basic items at each home so they don’t have to take things back and forth, understanding that they may naturally feel protective of parents’ feelings, and flexibility with kids potentially having a difficult time upon re-entry into home after any visitations.
